Having fun

Just had one of those phone calls alleging that my computer had a dangerous virus. Usual Indian accent. I replied that I had five computers and which one was affected? He then asked if I had broadband so I told him that I had two providers and wanted to know which one was the cause?

Confusion reigns but he persists. If you turn your computer on we will sort it out for you. Which one I again asked? Give the guy his due, he never lost it. More discussion backwards and forwards. He kept asking me to switch my computer on and I kept saying which one?

After a while I said how do you know my computer(s) is affected, do you know who I am? He then quoted my phone number without the first zero of course as he was phoning from abroad. Not mine I said. It is he insisted 151****** etc. No that's not mine I insisted.

Had him going for about 15 minutes before I got fed up and said look mate, I have a PHD in computer technology (lie) and know for a fact that you are a no good crook who is trying to scam me. Now piss off,

It was great fun.

i remember a guy called Gibby salt of the earth brave as a lion spent all his time when not on"active service" or Exercise ,wandering round camp with a clipboard and an adjustable spanner,never did out just wandered round !lolI remember goin to HQ 24 Rgt there was a Black RSM he used to have apoplexy whenever gibby was there not just for the antics but the fact that he had 4 differant caps and badges plus of course as a 54 Sqn chap he wore his cap like a tankie glorious.I often wonder what happened to him H.Happy days

so the rsm would sight him from a distance and dismiss him as not the culprit he was looking for'he would frequently do it on exercise as well

Teabag, along those same lines there is also one that will phone you at home, tell you your bill hasn't been paid, if you don't pay he will cut you off, will prove he can do it by saying put your phone down then try to ring out (of course all this time he is just keeping your line open, so you don't get a dial tone) he will then ring back and ask for payment

I got one of the calls the other day (yes we get them here). The area code shows it to be Rochester New York State. It was a woman, who didn't speak German. I'll give her credit she kept trying for a good 5 or 10 minutes.
