I have to be honest here, even though i do slag off the ACC (who doesn`t), i can say that when i was subject to their experimentation, sorry eating their offerings, i rarely if ever had a genuine reason to complain about anything.
Especially when on exercise.
We had our own cook-truck manned by slop-jockeys and the meals produced were just as good as in camp, like previously said a trench and the back end of a jet engine.
The size of the queue when the bell got rung and the speed with which it formed says it all.

during basic training we even had to resort to going into aldershot and joining the service in the sally ann citadel on sundays , for a couple of hymns and prayers we were rewarded with free tea and wads ,even better than the naafi tea and wads ,. a lot of the younger members on site never saw the real acc , ginger

I don't remember that being a tower block, oh well

as to the ACC the only really rubbish food i recall was in basic training at blackdown, everywhere else it was fine, and in most messes i found it to be excellent.

I remember the ACC in Cyprus (1956) starting variety choices of food where the lads could choose between hot or cold menus and Tea, Coffee or soft drinks. Of course the Middle East School of Cookery resided in the camp.

In 1993, as part of the Options for Change defence review, it was amalgamated into the Royal Logistic Corps.

Jimsigs, the RLC was formed from the RAOC, ACC, RCT and Movers from RE. The RMP, MPSC RAEC,,RAPC RAChD and ALS reformed as the Adjutant Generals Corps (AGC). Regiments and Corps have ceased to recruit dedicated Clerks, they are part of the AGC. Nickname:- Vicars and Tarts. Laughing

Thanks for that Sheldrake. Presume they all wear the same cap badge except RMP, but what about trade/proficiency badges for the different elements which make up the RLC ?

The RMP, RAChD and MPSC still retain their original cap badge, the remainder wear the AGC badge. The RLC wear trade/proficiency insignia according to their skills.
