| Brum, I can distinctly remember 2 Bdrs from X (Sy) Troop parading in No 2 Dress with 2 Chevrons and a Crown above. Maybe it weas something to do with Msl Regts being Div Arty that they had this appointment. I do believe that when 24 moved to Dortmund the Survey Troop was disbanded and the Surveyors were assimilated into 22 Bty or 94 Loc Regt. Or maybe it was all a dream. Any Loc/Msl guys got any info? | |

| what a good thread. Couple of things i remember, i once came accross a RCM, regimental corporal major, cant remeber his regiment. he was not impressed when i referd to him as corporal. at 2 queens, the toast was done seated, and by Mr vice. i had understood the regiment was formed on HMS Hood on the way to savastapol. and as the toast was responded to, someone would always intone, stand fast the buffs.
if you wished to be left alone to eat in the mess you placed the newspaper beside your plate, this indicated you were reading and should not be disturbed. | |

| Having served in various different HQ messes, they all seemed to have a different tradition with the port. I suspect it was down to the presiding members Regiment/ Battalion. | |
