Walked right round the bloody thing twice (lake that is) and all I saw was water. Never really came across any hostility from the locals. They started it anyway!

Why did you walk round the lake twice, were you lost ?

(I mean, it's a helluva big dam, even after the Brylcreem had modified it, how could you miss it ?) Suspect

I vas only obeyink orders. We actually went for some kind of break there and our staff sergeant being a complete lazy idiot couldn't think of anything better for us to do than walk right around it while he drank beer etc with the other seniors.

It came up in conversation recently that back in the 70's, somewhere 'round the back of Felsenmeer and up towards Deilinghofen, there used to be a direction sign for a Panzer Lehr unit.

We couldn't ever remember seeing a Bundeswehr presence in that area.

You've got the knowledge, what do you think was there ?
