| I have learnt a little gem which may prevent nasty xmas surpises...
iPhones and other smartphones have the ability tpo 'Geotag' which basically means store the GPS coordinates of any picture taken with the phone. Should you then post the picture on the internet (facebook for example) thiefs can access the information on the picture and use google maps or similar to locate where the picture was taken.
In an example, someone I know collects Rolex watches, took photos and was robbed at home.
The criminals used such information, the police think, to obtain location and intelligence to mount the raid.
You can switch off the function via the menu. | |
