Now this is what you call a MASSED Band . The caption says "British Army Bands in London", apparently in 1983.
Doesn't look like the old Wembley to me, but obviously a football ground. Anyone got any ideas of where this was and what it was all in aid of?

Thanks Gordon. Any idea what it was all about or was it just a post Falklands KAPE sort of thing?
And my link seems to have disappeared so here's the url
To quote a local expression, perhaps it's the way I hold my mouth.

I had to turn my volume waaaay up and even at that it wasn't very loud....
This is great. The logistics of getting so many men marching in sync and not falling all over each other while playing must have been a real challenge.
Sure beats anything those silly Marching Bands the Americans have (non-military)....this is the real thing!!!

As a matter of fact, I have the video tape, purchased in 1988. An excellent show with just about every regiment and corps band in the British Army along with pipes and drums as well as several bands from Canada.
If it is the same show, it was at Wembley and Prince Charles was in attendance as Colonel of the Parachute Regt.
There was a big and noisy finish with the bands playing the 1812, complete with giant catherine wheels, guns of the King's Troop and Honourary Artillery Company, plus a carillon. Also a great show by the bands and bugles of the Light Division.
It's a Bandleader Video. Don't know if it's still available.
