When on gate sentry duty with 1LF at Quebec Barracks, Osnabruck '63-'64. We had to 'log in' everybody entering the barracks. Under 'unit' we would scribble M.S.O. for all the civilian workers entering every morning. Under 'name' we would write Morgan,Morgan,Morgan,Morgan.
Any stranger would wonder why a Lancashire Regiment could have so many Welshmen working for it.

My God a Lancashire Fusilier, welcome to the Minden boy. I was in kleine Moscau, and my dad was the Chief Clerk of the LF's then, or a SGT in the orderly room anyway. Bill Frodsham was his name.

I was only 17/18 when I was at Osnabruck but I seem to remember your Dad. Wasn't he a bespectacaled chap. I was there when they made the training film about espionage and security. It was filmed in and around the Bn. HQ orderly room. I think your Dad's in it. Lanc's Fus 'website' will provide you with a copy (for a price).

When I was in the Nick in Lippstadt the Germans civilians working in Barracks had to "Clock in and out" at the Guardroom, the clock was situated inside. The worker would arrived at the (barred) window, give his name and be clocked in by a SUS, when he walked away he would be promptly clocked out again. God knows how the SSO sorted out the wages at the end of the month!

fusilburger, me old Footslogger.
I'm somewhat concerned about your avatar. It seems to show an artillery officer poking a lady with something. Most unseemly.
The lady seems to have a lot to say on the subject, judging by the amount of dialogue that appears in that balloon, above her head. Unfortunately it's too small to make out.
Perhaps you'd care to enlighten us ?
In triplicate will suffice.

All fascinating subjects, but have you forgotten that it is time now that you put your mind to those presents for Christmas and not leave it to the last minutes. You, or most likely your Dad’s or his Dad will want something thoughtful and interesting as a gift. I have worked hard and burnt much midnight oil to make this possible for you. Why not look at the following internet site and happy reading to all.
