| Hilda's passing
The officer in command of the bearer party is Major Nicholas Mott of the Welsh Guards, who will walk behind the coffin with his brother Garrison Sergeant Major Bill Mott OBE. Both men served in the Falklands conflict.
The other pallbearers include Corporal John Caulfield, 30, from the 40 Commando Regiment, Royal Marines, whose unit helped secure the beachhead at San Carlos.
The Scots Guards and Royal Gurkha Rifles, which fought at Tumbledown, will be represented by Lance Sergeant Paul Quayle, 31, and Lance Corporal Tej Pun, 31. Lance Sergeant Quayle’s father served in the Falklands.
The 3rd Bn The Parachute Regiment, which was involved in the attacks at Ajax Bay and Wireless Ridge, will be represented by Lance Corporal James Steel, 24.
Sergeant Jason Buffham, 30, will represent the 4th Regiment Royal Artillery which fired over 12,000 shells at enemy positions in the final 12 hours of the conflict.
The other pallbearers are Able Seaman Thomas Baker, 22, from Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose, Fleet Air Arm, and Lance Corporal Adam Jones, 23, from the Queen’s Colour Squadron RAF.
They will be followed by two Cap Orderlies, who will hold the caps of the eight pall bearers as they carry Lady Thatcher’s coffin. They are Senior Aircraftman Jamie Straker, of the Queen’s Colour Squadron RAF, and Guardsman Sam Williams, 1st Battalion Welsh Guards. Is Dimbleby getting past it? He made several errors in his commentary, identifying Mark Thatcher's wife as Carole Thatcher, referring to Lady Thatcher's two granddaughters (didn't he notice one was a young man?) and several other lesser slips. Never mind - I cant think of a suitable replacement at the moment.
