My first operational posting in the army. I was a driver in 8 Tpt Column and we used to drive American trucks in support of the tactical missile unit of the US Army.
I have a few photos of this time including some of our Motor Cycle trials Team that went to Berlin for a competition.
It was an unusual experience working with the US Army, they had far better provisions than us and their rations were to die for. We would be out in the bush eating our Bully Beef and Irish Stew from the compo rations and they would have steak and ice cream served up to them.
Interesting times and memories.
