Hi All ex 23 Base Members! I was a UKBC at in Wetter from Jan 1984 to October 1991. I think that they were the best years of my life! Had some great times in the Sgts Mess. I have been back to Wetter several times in recent years and kind of sad to see that the Mess has been been demolished. Some real good colleagues there,both Civilian and Military. I particularly liked the fact that there was never anti civvy feeling shown by the Military members. Oh happy times!

There have been a few 23 Base Wksps photos displayed on the variuos REME Facebook sites recently. Which one I cannot remember, as I am member of a many.

Source has been a guy who was working at new Remem Museum at Lyneham

Colin Reeves and Jeff Mills. Now there's a couple of names from the dim and distant past!! I was a UKBC in 23 Base from 1988 to 1992 working (or more accurately attending!!) in PMD(??). Colin was a work colleague of mine - and indeed a good friend. I lived in Witten-Annen. I've recently retired. I've got some fond memories of the workshop, area and in particular the people. Colin (particularly) please post a response on here so that we can maybe make contact?? Does anyone know the whereabouts and/or welfare of say John Miles and Adrian Lane(??). Again, good friends who regretfully we subsequently lost touch with.
I visited Wetter a few years ago on our way back from a week on the Mosel and bumped into Wolfgang Heitdmann an ex PMD colleague who lives opposite where the Sgts Mess was located. He was in good health and we exchange xmas cards and stay in touch
Fond memories indeed. Responses would be appreciated.

Hi Andy! Good to hear from you and I hope you are enjoying your retirement as much as I am enjoying mine. No news about the whereabouts of John or Adrian. . Andy we had some great times together including weekends down the Mosel in Arthur Wisemans Caravan consuming considerable quantities of the local wine and enjoying bratties and frikadella barbecued whilst watching the boats going up and down the Moselle!
