ASF Hangar

Hangar No 1 or ASF (Aircraft Servicing Flight) Hangar was built in 1954.
The saying goes that it was a U-boat hangar dismantled at Bremerhaven or Bremen.
I doubt this. It looks more like an aircraft hangar.
The British unit that built the airfield and the hangar was No 5357 Airfield Construction Wing (later "Branch" instead of "Wing")
Building of the airfield started Oct 53. Operational flying from Oct 1954.

The Royal Air Force moved out in 1999. In 2003 it became an international airport: Airport Weeze
