Tiger Tank Harz Mountains 1945 Ruebeland

Hello from Germany.

I`m looking for soldiers, that took fotos of a tiger Tank in Ruebeland Harz-Mountains 1945. British troops replaced Americans some weeks after VE-Day and it is reported, they often stopped at the Tiger wreck
at Ruebeland and took fotos.
The tank was hit by 2 Panzerfausts by the crew, and then left there.
Tank was to be seen 2 years after end of war,
In August 1945 we came under Soviet occupation.

I hope to get response or a foto !

52nd (Lowland) Infantry Division command 30th Corps relived the US Forces in the area on the 27 May 45, handing over to 5th Infantry Division on the 10 Jun 45, who remained until the 4 Jul 45 when the Russians took over, the HQ Royal Artillery and their units had general responsibility but sorry unable find which unit could have been in Rübeland, best of luck with your research.

Sorry, no photos of the tank! It would seem that the following listed American Unit visited Rubeland

8 Armored Division
36 Tank Battalion
Company D

I have quickly looked at the photos headed 'Rubeland' and read some of the text.

Maybe you will find what you are looking for now that you know the name of the American Units from the area in 1945.

thanks, but I already know this website. there ist no foto of the tiger.
I have one ,not very good token 1 year after end of war, black white, dont know how to past it in this mail.

Are you interested only in the Ruebeland Tiger?
I have found two pictures of German tank wrecks near Braunlage, not too far from Ruebeland. The uniforms of the soldiers seems British. Although there were a great number of German armoured vehicles destroyed or abandoned in the Harz area, there are only a few pictures.
