| Will do Jim, lurking at raoconline has positively readjusted my memories of the place and confirmed what a great bunch of lads were there. By the way, how long does it take to get registration confirmed? Recently received some much welcome support from the Raoc Association Trust-once served never forgotten. A lesson in humility for this All Arrogant Clerks Course B1 ex Shiny A*se. Perhaps if I had been better at typing Daily Orders and 252's I wouldn't have inhaled so much correction fluid and rejoined civvie strasse prematurely Regards steve | |

| I was station in Munster with the 1st Bn Queen's Royal Surrey's Regiment. It became the 1st Bn Queen's Regiment while I was serving.I can not remember at which barrack's now. I was a driver in the HQ, MT company, and later trained as a projectionist. Some years later I tranfered into the Royal Army Medical Corp (217 London General Hospital and later 308 ABSD). How I eneded up in the Royal Surrey Regiment I do not know as I am a Sussex man born and breed?

| One of our batteries were close support for the Surreys at that time. I can't remember the other battalions who were there but I think our bty supported the Foresters.

| Thanks Steve.
Mention of the D&Ds reminds me, we had neighbours from that regiment, when we lived in Munster/Coerde. The battalion went off to Larzac and when our neighbour came back, he'd picked scabies up. He passed it to his kids who passed it to my son who gave it to us. Not a thing I'd like to catch again !

| I am fairly sure it was Oxford Barracks where I helped handle the MFO out for Queens Surreys and I think we moved in RGJ , that would have been late 60s, I am fairly sure that the RGJ were confined to barracks for a period, think they were a little high spirited in town

| A Green Jacket Battalion (2?) were certainly in Oxford Barracks when I was in the Loddenheide complex on the otherside of town in the late 60s/early 70s. | |

| It was used as Edinburgh school until it closed a few years ago also Civi transport group had workshops at rear. And tranmitter tower for BFBS
That's where I went to school in the late 1960's. All I remember was that it consisted of a few wooden huts. | |
