Hi,, visited a yard sale today and got a great piece of military/cricket memorabilia, it's a full size wall hanging cricket bat, with brass plaques one stating presented by 12 FD. WKSP. CC. To Major R.M.G. Briggs at the annual dance November 1972, others plaques state what they won in the season,, and there is a cricket ball half imbedded into the bat with a plaque below saying "Hard Luck Sir Nearly Through" and hand written signatures of the team might be some names you recognise it's a great looking thing.....

Very interesting. I knew George Briggs quite well

He was an Army level player in his early career, and retained an active interest throughout his entire military career, the bat must have been a souvenir of his time in Osnabruck.

Sadly George died earlier this year.
