Looking for John Ponton - Bünde and Bielefeld

John Ponton, a Scot served in the British occupation forces and lived in Bünde near Bielefeld at least in 1948.
I don't have much information other than he raced motorcycles while he was stationed up to at least 1948. He was good friends with H.P. Mueller who was a high profile motorcycle and car racer in Germany during the 1930s to 1950s.

I am trying to locate any information about him or his family. Where he might have come from and where he went after Germany. I suspect he was from Kirkcaldy in Fife, Scotland and if so his middle name would have been Neil.
Another John Ponton served with the Royal Engineers but he is not the one I am looking for.

If anyone has any information it would be of great help. I have searched every imaginable online resource and cannot confirm him in Germany. I am not a relative so it's hard to get information from the British War office.

Hopefully someone might remember him particularly because of his motorcycle racing connections. Thanks.

I have new information. John Ponton moved to South Africa in late 1948 or early 1949 after his stay in Germany. I can't be sure but I guess he left the military at that time.

The search is off because I found what I was looking for now. Thanks for the help anonymous.
