| I have recently joined a couple of Groups on Facebook, One Royal Signals and another dedicated to all those who served at 28 (BR) signal Regiment at Fransica Barracks, St Tonis, Krefeld. I have made contact with one or two folks who served when I was there in 1964 to early 1968. Wow - what a long time ago now, over 50 years. All thsoe grand days being a Cold War Warriors keeping them Roosian and Warsaw pact hordes out. Hmm, perhaps they also spent time getting drunk and not wanting to be where theyw ere, considering many of them were conscripts back then. Shocked I must admit that I had a 'love' 'hate' relationship with 28 Sigs. I got my first promation to Lance Corporal and was introduced to the mysteries of the Corporals Mess in the old NAAFI block. Some drunken times were ahd back in then thar distant days. Age is creaping up on me and perhaps some of my misspent yoof as well. affraid. I also attend a Veterans Breakfast in southend-on-Sea, sunny Essex on the last Saturday of each monht, weather dependant..... | |
