| From my website https://britisharmyingermany.com 9 Jun 48 – 3rd King’s Own Hussars Royal Armoured Corps from United Kingdom relieving 10th (Prince of Wales's Own) Royal Hussars Regimental Headquarters: Kingsway Barracks formerly Flak Kaserne Rendsburg, Landkreis Rendsburg 1 Jul 48 – Knightsbridge Barracks formerly Waldersee Kaserne, Stadtkreis Lübeck Hamburg District historical records fail to mention the regiment’s arrival, so some information taken from http://www.british-army-units1945on.co.uk recorded to 2nd Infantry Division for Xmas 48, however not mentioned in the historical records for the division (unless I have missed it!), more than likely it was one squadron who moved to Oxford Barracks, Münster and the regiment arrived 22 Jan 49 when 22nd Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA moved to Northumberland Barracks, Menden, it was practice then for one squadron of RAC units to move ahead of the regiment. | |
