| We use to collect amunition once a year 1959 & 1960 from this place. It was only small quntities to fit in Austin Champ To then transport it back to Belefield 3 AFSD RE. Have no other recollection or details of Barrack, Camp or units at that location any suggestions? Peter | |

| Yes this is the place I found on my google travels. There are some buildings with the vegetation on the roofs but so many are easily visible with roads around them. This is the area nearest the civilianised area.
Moving towards the bottom of the higlighted area there are more buildings which perhaps do have some camouflage are quite visible from a few kilometers up.
Is this still a main ammunition storage place and is it being used by the whole of NATO perhaps.
I cannot see that it would have been all that difficult to spot once air superiority had been gained WW2 or did we think we could keep it hidden from SOXMIS or the russian equivalent of the U2.
The story about it being well hidden sound good but none of us being told it were looking down on it. It seems fairly easily found.
Are there any pictures out there of it in its full 'hidden' glory.
