My daughter was born in BMH Munster in 1990, just before we flew out to the Gulf (her indoors reckons I only went to get out of midnight feeds & smelly nappies )

We ended up getting the downstairs neighbour (a German) to run us into BMH Munster in his 2-door 2CV. Have you ever seen a full term pregnant woman trying to get into the back of one of those things. It took some persuading to get her to see sense and sit in the front!!

Two of my daughters were SUPPOSED to have been born in BMH Munster . Our second daughter was too quick and we only just made it to Belfast Baracks MRS in Osnabruck. Our youngest daughter should have been born there too but we lived in Soest and over the christmas period (1986)we had rather a lot of snow and as the wife had rather quick labours the Belgian Hospital was a better bet. Actually what she said was .......my child is NOT having a *%@#&*$ British Military Ambulance as a place of birth on its birth certificate!

I never had the chance to say thank you to the staff at BMH Munster for saving my life during the early 1960's. I was taken there after I developed a major urine infection. I was treated at BMH Munster twice within a year for the same problem, and on the second time I had to be case evacuated by air ambulance back to the UK. And treated at BMH Aldershot and BHM Milbank.
Thanks a lot.

Hello,
I was born in BMH Munster in 1965.
I understand that the hospital no longer exists -- but I assume that the buildings still do.
I will visit Munster in December 2014 (for their Christmas Market) so I would very much like to see the former hospital.
Do you have a street address for the former hospital?
Or could you send me a Google Maps link to the location?
Thanks for your help!

My two daughters were born at BMH Munster. The eldest involved a rather desperate drive down on the Autobahn, about a 40km trip from Osnabruck where I was based when she decided to arrive early.

I have two pics of BMH Munster in my Album -- not very good prints -- but I have scanned them to show you. I was there in the Path Lab for a short while before being sent to BMH Berlin. I had a walk around the Town -- there was cobbled streets and the 'Dom' and an arcade with lots of good camera shops with all wonderful German Cameras on show that we never saw in England --
The long low building is the NAAFI as it says on back of print.

My sister was born in Munster Hospital in 1963, I think. I remember my father buying a Miele Washing machine for the homecoming. I had two rather complex toe operations there just after Dr NO hit the screen. I also remember the church there with cages on the wall where they kept a few Anabaptists.
