Calling all call signs!
I've had an email from a guy who's father was based here in 1958. Does anyone have any camp names, photos, info etc?
He also said that there was the Rhine Army College here.
Any takers? All help would be appreciated.

British Pathe News has the Shropshire Light Infantry receiving Colours in Göttingen here:
these are preview pictures and you may have to log in to britishpathe.com to view the stills / news reel!
I find that their filing system is a little strange to devote many hours to browsing!

From a copy of original documentation from Kew: College of the Rhine Army – 7 Formation College – Göttingen The first course was the 5 Nov 45, the reporting centre was the nearby Weende Kaserne with accommodation for other ranks, the officers were billeted in local hotels and batmen were not to be taken!

Hi everyone :-) I'm looking for Captain Harold David Smith; teacher in accountants at College of the Rhine Army in Goettingen. Thank you for your pictures and documents, I have only a picture of HD Smith, some documents of the courses and an issue of the goose girl. I'm interested in his military career because one of my sons is serving longtime in the German Army.
By the way; HD Smith is my father; any people concerning this are now dead so that I can start the research.
Thank you!

This is an excellent piece of historical work. In six years with BAOR I never heard mention of the university. I think I only went through Gottingen once or twice during my time there, and never really had the opportunity to stop and look around.
Anyway, top marks to the contributors.
