Hi, I am researching a family tree for a friend and her grandfather was Ronald Stevens 23516496 Sergeant RAC, who served in Germany around the late 60's early 70's.
I would like to include a brief narrative about his service and wonder if you could give me any help with that please?
I believe he was in Bovington Barracks around the early 50's but not sure.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Margaret

Margaret
Welcome.
As is often the case the best advice is to apply for a copy of an extract of your friend's grandfathers's Service Record from the Army Personnel Centre Kentigern House Glasgow. You can apply on line but please note that there are severe restrictions on what can be disclosed under the Data Protection Act. You should however ultimately receive sufficient information as to when Ronald joined the Army , what Regiment he joined (from this you should be able to work out where he subsequently could have served in the UK and Germany and when he finally left the Regular Army. His Army number of 23516496 suggests he joined up in the mid 1950's and his first posting,as a Recruit, would have been to the RAC Training Centre at Bovingdon
Good luck with your project.

Hi, Thanks a lot for your reply.
I will see if my friend can find his death certificate so she apply for his service records.
