| On another of my wanderings I have found some details of this Regiment's HQ being in the Hemer area in April 1945, along with Company locations in the surrounding area. http://british-army-units1945on.co.uk/Leicesters.aspxAnyone able to confirm exactly where?? There is also a clip of the 1st Bn receiving new Colours in 1950. The buildings are, to me, in Germany, but the history we have gives them as being in England and not arriving in BAOR until late 1952?? http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=62370Paul. | |

| I note the lads on parade are wearing 2 Inf Div flash (Crossed Keys), but the Sgt is wearing another, I have seen it before, but where I cant recall nor can I find it in my reference books .. its a Shield divided into 4 quadrants by a Cross and the quadrants bear the Roman numerals, VI - X - XVI and XIV .. just can't remember it .. 76 pushing 77 doesn't help ..

| Found a reference to them being in Korea and returning to the UK in 1952 aboard the "Empire Orwell". The same flash is visible in one still of the "out takes".

Paul. Hi Paul and all Now back on line have been busy with personal stuff The location is Mons Barracks Iserlohn compare the the second half of this clip for the RHF who were there in 1963 (blocks now painted) http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=43360 Sure the date should be later as the Leicesters were recorded there Nov 52 to Jan 55 and have seen the notes of them being in the area 45/46 have emailed Green Tiger webmaster to see if he can confirm...have blank from Feb 51 when Kings Regt left until they joined Nov 52 Regards Steve...still looking as history is only as good as those who wrote it down! http://britisharmyiniserlohn.blogspot.com

| I support the view that the film clip was taken in Germany.
It certainly is not Glen Parva, the Tigers Depot. I also remember as a schoolboy watching the Battalion marching down the High Street towards the Clock Tower from the Central Station at the start of the formal Welcome Home from Korea by the City of Leicester in Summer 52.
As we have seen elsewhere some of the data associated with the archive film clips is somewhat questionable
