My father participated in the 1957 elimination match. He fired the BAR. My mother recently gave me some mementos he kept from the event. Here are some photos of the program handed out that year.

Hi all, new to this forum, trying to see what is out on the internet about my dad, Robert Parsons. I believe in 1958 he won the prix Leclerc pistol competition for the US, and in 1959, his team mate took first, and he took second place. The next time I visit my mom, I will take some pics of his trophy's and medals, and post them for all to enjoy.

At one time, many photo and Films could be viewed Live! Sadley , most older, unimportant stuff was taken off being able to be viewed. However, if you join the IWM, then order items to view or photos sent. Not sure how they deal with 35mm Films? it will not be cheap.
Note the Nat 1630 Cat No
I will add some more info in next mail here

I think Membership is not what you really need in this case?
Suggest phoning and asking about ordering the Cat No + Title. Phone: 020 7416 5000

Seeing ''Grafenwohr'' brought back a memory I had forgotten. I was att. to 14 Fld. Regt. RA in West Riding Bks, Dortmund '64 - '66 as a Cfn. We went down to Grafenwohr (7th Army Training Centre - if I remember correctly. Or should that be ''Center''?)
Was it 400 miles or 400 kms? Can't remember. It seemed a really long way and there was plenty of work for us fitters!
The Regt. had 25 pounders (5 & 13 Batts) and 5.5" (1st Batt.). No idea what the Americans were using, but it seemed we beat them at every exercise from reports coming back to the LAD area.
However, we were entertained royally by the Yanks to the extent of getting into trouble (nothing serious) regularly. I can recall sitting in the middle of a baseball pitch with a Spec 5 called Hale (they seemed to use surnames only) one evening drinking cherry vodka to oblivion. Never touched vodka since!!!!
They did seem to keep their daughters well away from us. Don't think I saw one, although there were wives there. But they were about 30 +, so far too old for this 20 year old. We live and learn, don't we? Any ex 14 Regt. or attached on that exercise?
