| Browsing through my newly-arrived Legion magazine, I notice an ad for a book called "The Harrogate Army Apprentice". The book covers the period '57 to '59, so it will be of interest to old buggers in my age group. Gordon ? | |

https://bfg-locations.editboard.com/t1162p15-books-by-ex-squaddies Just passing on something I'd seen in a magazine, old bean. Desperately trying to keep up with a subject that really had bugger all to do with me, really. I'm calling the guardroom to attention and saluting you now ,SAH ! (Bloody junior regiments, they're SO touchy !). | |

| As a matter of interest Brum. One of the characters mentioned rather a lot was a RA Bdr (Cpl in normal units)whose name i shall withhold. His nickname however was the "Boy Bastard".Boy after his youthful good looks and bastard after his doubtful parentage and general attitude towards us young apprentices.Strange how things come back to haunt one. Salute returned.G & Ts at sundown.Don`t be late |

| Re the new book on AAS Harrogate by Fred Carslake. Please see my message posted in 'BAOR Locations 2011' Good book but centres too much on his own intake and their points of view. Cliff Walters book is more rounded and deals more from the start to finish. Only my personal point of view. Jimsigs1 | |
