NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

It's almost that time of the year when, full of optimism, bonhomie and drink, we foolishly resolve to do something that we have no intention of implementing. Therefore, my New Years Resolution for 2011 will be not to leave things until the last minute.

Mine will be not to be a soft touch any more. The amount of people I have helped and not even had a thank you is amazing.

I go out of my way to look for burials in the local library, if I find them, I take a photo of the grave and email it to the person asking. A few are grateful but most don't acknowledge and if I can't find the info, none ever say well thanks for trying. Costs me money as well so they can sod off.

Same goes for these little jobs that I do and charge peanuts for. Sorry but Teabag is not going to do it any more unless paid properly.

Well I wouldn't mind leaving things till the last minute, if only I were clever enough to know when the last minute was, as for Teabag, well think I must agree, it is all too easy to do things for people without ever receiving 1 iota of thanks,

Clear out the shed, loft & garage. It will probably take all year anyway just in time to make a New Year Resolution for 2013. Ha! Ha!

New years resolution for the Prime Minister.

This year I will either:

a. Pull our lads out of all hostile theatres, return them to the UK and rename the Brirtish Army 'The UK Defence Force' or...

b. Stop cutting the defence budget manpower and resources.

I go along with that. Our local RAF Staion at Lyneham is closing soon and they are going to use it for the troops coming home from BAOR.

I think you will find that HQ REME and the REME Training Organisation (11 and 12 Bn REME) are moving to Lynham from Arborfield and Bordon.

While our Ozzie and Kiwi friends have celebrated and are now into 2012, and the gang from the UK and the EU are starting the celebrations, we on the West Coast of Canada still have 11 hours to go, non the less I wish each and everyone a better New Year, if last year was good to you, then this one will be better - BELIEVE.
