| Does a Warrant Officer receive a document in the form of a warrant and what does it look like. Also, does its cover issue for WO2 & WO1. Often wondered since my late Father was a WO3 (Platoon Sergeant Major) before being commissioned in 1941 and I do not remember seeing any such document other than an annoucement in the Gazette.

| Hunted high & low on the internet but no reference to what this darn warrant looks like. Came across some forum where the discussion was relating to either late receiving of warrant by up to 3 yearsor some fellas compalining about lack of comms from the appropriate issuing authories. Smell a rat here !!!

While we're at it, "Barrack Sergeant Major" ? "Mechanist Sergeant Major" ? I think the fact that sergeant is spelt with a "J" might date it.

I think an "Experimental Sergeant Major" would be some sort of scientific person, someone like, let me think.......Barnes Wallis, for example. Jimsigs 1, I have managed to photograph mine, that was the easy bit, just waiting for my 11 year old Grandson to shown me how to upload it.

| Gentlemen
That list of Warrant Officer appointment must date from WW1 since it quotes AOC not RAOC appontments
Any one quoting first hand knowledge of the detail is going to be very thick skinned or has donned his regulation tin hat to ward off the counter barrage.

| Gordon,
Where the devil did you dig that beer mat from ? Plus you have Barnes Wallis on your mind. See his Son Barnes died recently and the other - Chris Wallis died in 2006, so you never got the mat from them. I reckon you might have 'borrowed' from the RA Museum.
