612 Tk Tptr Unit RCT (MSO) Now 16 Tktptr Sqn RLC

I joined this unit as the 30th British soldure in the Unit. The MSO were a great bunch of blokes. Taught me to drive an ANTAR with 2 sentances. More gas Johnny and Stop Johnny! They served us well.

You would appear to be over staffed, I was with 1 Corps HQ Defence Company (MSO) and our total British strength was seven.

And of course, 617 Tk Tptr in Hamm.

Interesting to see the Plaque, I was ASM of 617 Sqn Wksp 72-74, they were granted the Freedom of Stadt Hamm in 72. We had 8 Brits in the Sqn and 7 in the Wksp. As has been said before great to be with, some real characters who could regale us with amazing stories after a few vodkas. Great times.

I was REME attached to 16 tank tptr sqn in Fallingbostel, approx 79/80, fun posting and yes the MSO were a great bunch of blokes.
