I think the BBC it was that compiled a series of documentaries about WW2 called "The World at War".
i've just been watching a couple of episodes, covering The Battle of Britain, on one of our freeview channels.
The archive footage shows many of the aircraft involved wearing the Canadian Maple Leaf.
