Can anyone add to the units that have been stationed in Hohne. Dates and the barracks they were on would be appreciated. Phil.

I once spent 7 days with 45 Regt RA at Hohne (c1980) didn't like it much if I'm honest lol. At the time I was stationed at Bournemouth Barracks Soltau, we had a guardroom but no bloody cells! We usually got sent to nick at one of the regiments at Fally but for some reason on this occasion I went for a 7 day sojourn with those nice chaps from 45 Regt at Hohne, happy days! Cant remember the name of the barracks.

The worst nick that I ever had the misfortune to spend some time in was the Detention Block at Woolwich. It wasn't part of the Depot Guardroom but a holding establishment for Absentees who were waiting for a flight back to BAOR, as you can imagine there were all sorts in there. They had three sets of Provost Staff, each doing an 8 hour shift, to say that we were messed about was an understatement, I was only 18 years old and spent 10 days there, which weren't taken in to consideration when I was sentenced to 28 days on RTU. Happy days!
