UK Army, Navy & Airforce today.. a ballsup in the making..?

Are the current round of defense cuts and so-called 'rationalisation' of UK armed forces by our current bunch incompetent, Eton educated Plebs going down the wrong track as far as all 3 Armed Services are concerned. Just how many current serving Members of Parliament have TA experience, or recent military experience?

Mr Dave and his pals in the coaltion of fools appears to be putting great store on increasing the size of the TA to bolster the regular Army numbers. I watched general Dannat being interviewed, and state on TV that this was a big mistake, and if it fails, it is going come back bite any future government (Labour, Tory or Coaltion), on their political gonads in years to come. It appears that none of political chinless wonders have any clue about the military, but then should we expect them to have any clue?

I'm totally resigned to what's going on. I hated the loss of our famous regiments and the fact that our navy and air force has been reduced to shows of their former strength but I recognise we need to reduce our standing forces. I just think there was a better way to do it, to keep the pride we once had.

There's so much dependence upon technology now and while that might be a good thing in saving lives what happens if and when it doesn't work?
