| Was thinking back to the days of my service and how outdated our our vehicles were, the Daimler Armoured car Was our main AFV. I was Radio op / Gunner . To calibrate the two pounder main armament to the telescopic gun sight Was very simple-: Place the fine string in the cuts in the end of the Barrel That then formed a cross, The string was held with a smear of grease . Sight this cross on The corner of a truck Parked at the other side of the parade ground, then turn the screws on the telescopic sight that aligned the cross hair patter onto the same corner of the truck. And it worked. Any one else have such out dated equipment? | |

| The KISS Method, sure it would have worked if 4 Guards Shock Army had ever ventured over the border at Helmstedt. Mind you a lot of REME ECEs would have been redundant in later years | |
