I have just stumbled here - as I approach 90 in September - oooh I am OLLLLDDDD!
I read up on Elizabeth Barracks and noticed the 1st Batt. Rifle Brigade is not mentioned. I was stationed there from March 1949 to April 1950. that was when we served our National Service for only 18 months. I am unsure when the Rifle Brigade moved in and out, but maybe I am about the oldest %$#@^& still around!!! Any other old codger still about? I did my basic training in the KRRC at a training ground near Winchester. (Bushfield camp.) The memories keep flooding back. Perhaps some historian can update the denizens of Elizabeth Barracks.
Now to make old soldiers cringe - - - I served 22 years in the Royal Canadian Navy!

Ed, Thanks for presenting your photos to the site.
Some great quality photos to be seen, especially when viewed on a big screen monitor and not a phone.
Not often one saw the 1 Ton Armored Pig during pre NI days .
