Hi Peggy.
In Google maps, find Schmit-Knobelsdorf-Strasse and go north west to Lutonerstrasse. The estate on the right up to Lazerus strasse were some of the married quarters for the Infantry. Best of luck.

Sorry for the delay in replying not so good with computers, but thanks for that info I know I lived 2B Brook Barracks, wilhelmstrasse Schmidt Knorblesdorf Strasse and I was taught this till Iknew if off by heart because as a toddler I tended to escape quite a few times and make my way to the guard room.

With that address, it seems you lived inside Brooke Barracks, although I have no memory of a married quarter there. I was at Smuts Barracks with the Royal Engineers 1977 - 1980, so my memory is fading. Perhaps there were married quarters inside the barracks before the new quarters were built close by. It seems that after the British army left Berlin, both barracks were taken over by small business units. I believe that you can still walk through Wavell Barracks.

Maybe that's what it could be the quarters we lived in when we were there in 1957 may have been left empty if new quarters were built, as I remember my dad saying the Sgt's mess was farther along from our pad's pity if he was here still he could tell me so much, mam's memory has faded now but thanks for taking the time to reply appreciated.
