REME HQ 2 Division, 1959 Lubbecke Germany

Hi

My Dad served his national service in Germany in the REME, based at Lubbecke. They were attached to HQ 2nd Division, he was part of a group of pals who called themselves the ´drag syndicaté as they ran two Opel Kapitan cars. I’m looking for info about the REME at Lubbecke during the late 1950´s as I’m making my Dad a diorama to celebrate his service. I’m especially interested in the Scammel Pioneer that was used by the REME. Hope somebody out there can help adivise...

I am afraid that I can not help you but you have helped me! Although part of 2 Inf Div in 1957 I had no idea where our HQ Div was!!! Also, I thought that 2 Div had disbanded in 1957! Many thanks!

@senojyddet, 1, 2, 3 and 4 Div where in BAOR when I was out there in '76, which was a thrilling time because at Stanier's direction all of the divisions became armoured divisions.
