I have pulled up a few Rugby photos from the 'Imperial War Museum' (IWM). Photos from 1944. Not 1946 BAOR, of what appears to be presentation Cup by Senior British Officers to Inter KIWI Units of 8th Army.
I will see if there any BAOR 1946!

My Dad played for the his Regiment in the Finals in 1946. He also said he played for The BAOR against the Kwis in Hamburg So I have been trying to find out about the match ECT Dad passed in 1999 but have done a lot of research on his DDay landings all the way to Hamburg. I also visited the park last year where they played Rugby,

Great photos Alan Certainly getting closer to finding out thank you for your efforts. This match at Wuppertal stadium was played in Bayern Munich The match I’m looking for is at Bahrenfeld Stadium Hamburg on the 16th March 1946 I’m sure now it was the British Combined Services Regards Martin

Steve, I am now writing instructions to, as far as I know you can order a photo, which is no longer displayed.
As far as I can tell. Photo Code ' LBY BAOR 258' is from Hamburg. .
Explain you want to know how much and how to Order the photo qty 1 for personal use only. You don't want a Licence etc.
Include the code I gave you. It is a photo. Description ? They will reply to your query. Asking various questions. I have never ordered. So good luck.
Don't under estimate costs when dealing with IWM!!!!! One photo might cost £30-50! The photo might be the wrong one for you?
Suggest NOT turning up at IWM (Closed Sat and Sun).
Why would Wuppertal Stadium not be in Wuppertal?

Cheers Alan I got the information for Wuppertal stadium from a Webb search and the New Zealand rugby history site which gave where they played in Germany. I’ll chase up IWM regarding the information you sent me. I’m a little confused with them IWM shutting Sat and Sunday as I have a ticket for Sunday morning. But will check on line now to see what’s going on. Again many thanks the information Martin Ps My German half brother is also keen to know, we visited Hamburg Oct 2020 ( in between lockdowns) we went to Stade park where his unit was stationed. I compiled a book from D Day to Hamburg with map references. Just waiting for this dam Covid to go, so we can follow their route

Taken from the 8th Corps District Historical Records held at Kew Public Records Office:
The KIWIS will be playing a BAOR Combined Services XV v Kiwis at the Bahrenfeld Stadium, Hamburg, on Sat 16 March 1946 kick off 1430 hours, admission is free – tickets not required, the capacity of the ground is stand 1,000
