| No mate,
Ted Williams-Smith was a S/Sgt or Sgt in the RAMC, on the strength of BMH Iserlohn.
Clearly his name doesn't ring a bell with you.

| My Cods still get sore after 50 years ! I related that story to you, in BAOR as an Army brat, circa 1959, give or take a year, got hit in the groin playing football and the nursies at BMH Iserlohn looked after me. |

| Just re-read all the entries for this thread (not all of which related to BMH)...very interesting and quite entertaining! | |

My cods are inclined to cringe a little when BMH Iserlohn is mentioned too. On our return from the Emerald Isle, in '73 a whole crowd of us chose to rush, lemming-like to BMH for a vasectomy. We weren't hard to spot, crawling around camp, bow legged. We looked like extras in a Spaghetti Western. (Nobody offered to kiss us better either !).

Before or after the welcome home celebrations??? |

Perhaps I am missing something here but why on earth did a whole bunch of you rush off for vasectomies? I don't quite get the connection between a tour in NI and this procedure....unless of course the 'welcome home' involved sex with the wife (which I have no doubt it did!!) and the concern such a welcome would result in another sort of welcome nine months later. But surely the welcome home bit had already happened by the time you all high-tailed it in for vasectomies? Talk about closing the barn door after the horse ran out! Wouldn't a pack of rubbers or a birth control pill prescription have been easier?

| Maybe it was the "kiss it better" bit that was the attraction |

| It’s amazing how three little words "kiss it better." can get the forum going again.

| Gordon, free condoms (in my day) were only handed out to single guys, it was supposed to keep the STD cases to a minimum! Married pads were STD free!! | |
