Subject: Moore Barracks Dortmund 27/10/2022, 18:17
Hello! My father who is 78 years from Malta was part of the Royal Malta Artillery (part of British Army) and was based in Moore Barracks in 1962. I am trying to organise a visit for him to these barracks in Dortmund but have no clue whether these are still in existence. Grateful for any indications / help that I might receive here regarding the existence of these barracks including whether it is still possible for one to visit

Clare, I hope you can open these links of Moore Bks and the later Wrexham Bks , Mulheim.
I do not know if the buildings still exist in Dortmund? The Barracks will certainly be gone!

Alan is correct the barracks have been demolished, please put Freie-Vogel-Strasse Dortmund into Google the section alongside the B1 and 236 is where Moore/West Riding Barracks used to be, see 1 below for the original barracks layout.

Clare, Hopefully following on from Steve's map instructions. I hope I have found the correct area?.
The current photo of houses is typical of some conversions of Wrexham Barracks.

RED Blob is the location of where Moore Bks were. Now gone!
GREEN Blob is the Railway Station (Above the word DORTMUND)
YELLOW BLOB is the Airport. (You should be able to get a flight from UK . Take a Taxi to old bks location
Are you coming from UK by car/plane to Germany, or from Malta?
