Hi there, I´m from Germany and searching for some informations about WW2 for my Family history. I found a little interesting notice for the Polish 1st armoured Division.
I found that after the heavy fighting of the Fallaise Pocket in Normandy 1944 - the polish Division got so much losses that they looked for support. The info sayed that sometimes they recruited german prisoners of war (polish speaking) to reinforce the polish Division (I would think more for auxiliary work than for real fighting purpose).
Does anyone can confirm this information or has some more details?
Thanks for your help
