Having been stationed in Verden – Willich – Iserlohn – Hameln have started updating those pages first, returned to the former BAOR as a civilian, initially in Iserlohn and now near Cuxhaven so have worked on those pages, along with Itzehoe and Oldenburg that a former forum member and friend JPW who researched these garrisons along with much more to do with BAOR, sadly due to ill heath he is unable to continue.
I have a request, if anybody has some spare time to read through the numerous forum messages and record additions or amendments, please contact me by private message with your email address and your preference of location and or cap badge. Thank you.

Pleased to reoprt Lüneburg has been updated https://baor-locations.org/home-3/locations/luneberg/ Do not intended to write a history as need to get on with the main website updates for up to 1949, an interesting garrison, due to a shortage of barracks accommodation for occupational troops a lot of requisitioned accommodation was initially required, the town was home to Second Army May/Jun 45, have a few gaps while waiting for the 10 Garrison war diary to arrive.
There were four main barracks as follows: • Worcester Barracks formerly Scharnhorst (Infanterie) Kaserne – south of the town now Lüneburg University – used as a military hospital until Feb 46 • Bristol Barracks formerly Artillerie Kaserne – north of the town known as Lüner Kaserne – displaced person camp until Apr 46 • Alma Barracks formerly Fliegerhorst (Airfield) Kaserne – east of the town – used by the RAF first major army units arrived Nov 53 – now Theodor-Körner-Kaserne • Wyvern Barracks formerly Schlieffen (Kavallerie) Kaserne – east of the town – two barracks side by side – cleared quickly by Jul 45 – now disused
Living not far for Lüneburg, drove there a few years back finding all the barracks in place, only the Theodor-Körner-Kaserne was in military use.
