Someone who worked for British Forces in Germany Empty
PostSubject: Someone who worked for British Forces in Germany   Someone who worked for British Forces in Germany Icon_minitime24/9/2024, 03:27

Over the years (starting date is 9 May1945 onwards even when some people
started employment through PLSU as the advanced progressed!)
a great many people worked for the British Forces as Civilians
employed - classed as DEL Directly Employed Labour -
on the German net (ie Locally Employed Civilians (LEC)/Mixed Service
Organisation (MSO) MC?G - Mobile Civilian ? Group*)
paying German Tax and Social deductions.
[Dep= Dependant employees are members of the British community
(Wives/husbands and children of the Forces (and sometimes Nannies employed
by an officer of the Brit Forces) who pay NO German
income taxes and contribute to UK National Insurance!

LECHR are likely to hold these employment records too
- best to quote a National Insurance number or produce pay slips
when enquiring!)
]

For various reasons - including records of service for bonus and for pension,
death or injury in service, or proof of employment, or residence
- the British Forces are/were obliged to maintain personnel records.
