In 1967 I lived in Bielefeld and got to know a British captain. He lived in the Officers’ Mess but not the one you show in your pictures. It was a villa but was smaller than the house you show. I have forgotten the street where it was situated.

I have lost contact with this friend for a long time. He had to go back to Britain (Colchester) and came back some time later to Wuppertal.

I don’t know his regiment, neither have I much more information except the name and age, of course.

Do you think it might be possible to get his address or email address from somewhere? Are there registers with the names of British soldiers?

I have tried before to find him but without success.

I’m married, have three adult children and have become rather old myself – but still: I would be interested what has become of this officer. He must be about 73 now.

I would be grateful if you could give me a hint.
