Freedom Parades

Subject: Freedom Parades 22/11/2009, 17:59

In receiving, uploading, editing, etc., information for the main site, I keep coming across mention of Freedom Parades.

Celle, Iserlohn, Hameln, and Fallingbostel are some that have come up and this begs two questions:-

1. What other areas,cities, towns granted Freedom to units?

2. Is there anyone out there who has information, photographs, programmes, etc., of such parades?

2nd Queens were given the Freedom of Werl.

I remember the Black Watch thinking they were going to get the freedom of the city when they left in 1985. However it was just a parade to say goodbye.

I'm not sure but i think that the Royal Scots were given the Freedom of the city when they left, but by that time i had left Werl.
