| Yes, the Krakauer was nice, very spicy. I quite enjoyed my mid morning snack pricey though, i wonder how much a curry wurst cost in Germany now? | |

| I was in Germany last July Jim and they were Eu 3:00 (mit brotchen). Bit more expensive that they were in 1964.

| Travelling back west from Munchen we made a deviation to Rothenburg ob der Taube. Seemed worthwhile to give more than a brief inspection of mediaeval bits and the museum of German torture equipment, so a stop over was agreed. I was elected to pay, ( "I will park the Golf, you will book for a room") so the cheapest option in the hotel line was chosen. Same with the abendessen........ quick shufti at the speissekarte showed cheapest of the cheap was Frankenwurst. Can't go wrong with a sausage in Germany she said......... that was a cruel Kraut trick, maybe she'd expected better accommodation.
Frankenwurst was skinless, dark brown, knobbly on the outside, lumpy on the inside. It had all the appearance of a well formed turd, the taste could have been similar or, more likely, worse. We've said some cruel, unwarranted things about the ACC, but their worst efforts are haute cuisine compared with Frankenwurst. Stick to bratties in future, or even sauerkraut & chips.

| All this talk of food reminds me.......... sorry to hog the topic but I might not be here after tomorrow...... Just had my last meal for more than 24 hours, I might not last. Have to have one of those internal camera jobs, up the back passage, which is a medical euphemism for a....hole and not a reference to entry into an Edwardian terrace. I'm now part way through getting down 4 litres of chalky liquid which will clean me out quicker & more effectively than 7 pints of local brew.
Went for a sort of pre-op discussion last week, all done by a trim little brown skinned lady registrar. Quite a comic too. She decided to have a preliminary poke about, I happened to say " I'm told some enjoy this". "Yes", she said "It takes all sorts ! Those that do have been known to leave a bob or two on the side table when they go". Then she explained there was a risk with the camera, not much, but about one in a thousand need corrective surgery. "Have you done this before ?"I asked. "Oh yes," she sniggered. "About nine hundred & ninety nine times before you. Never had any problems to date !" | |

| Had mine last year, together with Gastoscopy, so I had a camera up my butt and one down my gizzard during the one visit ... I should point out they used different camera's .. at least they told me they did .. Absolutely painless. The year before I had the same thing up my pecker, they do that while you are wide awake. The doctor said do you want to watch it on the monitor, I declined and said I would wait for the book to come out. All procedures negative .. I have a very careful doctor .. the bugger has put me in for all kinds of tests, the one I did not like was the prostate biopsy .. NOW .. that DID hurt. I guess its better to be safe than sorry.

| Thanks for the sympathetic comment, fellers ! I have returned to duties and have qualified to join the merry band who sneer " It was nothing !" following their own invasive treatment. 'Cos it was nothing really after being hyped up by offers of sedation and details of what might go wrong. Having seen previous victims being wheeled out to recovery and still under the effects of knock-out drops, I opted to forgo the offer on the basis I could scream if something seemed to be amiss...... I was disappointed to miss further attention from the dainty Asian lovely who had presided at the pre-op. With memories of MI Room attendants of dubious sexual orientation, not surprisingly prodding & poking by females is more acceptable. And as you might be curious, nothing of a serious nature was uncovered...... Gott sei dank! | |

| All good news then, cartav! I had the misfortune in the last couple of years to have had two Cataract operations followed almost immediately by two Detached Retina operations. I too was hyped up by horror stories but, as you say, "It was nothing". | |
