| I read Les Rutherford's description with interest. I was with 25 Field Sqn from 1966 to 1969. 4 Div Engrs was redesignated 26 Engr Regt before its move to Iserlohn, not '35' as Les describes it.

| hi guys i was with 26ENGINEER REG at Alanbrooke barracks from 68 till we moved to iserlohn. at the barracks i was in the ferret scout car block and remember going to Iserlohn for a recce before we moved and remember stopping of at a canadian barracks for food and a drink had abit of a party there the canutes were fascinated by the ferret scout cars. also remember Pepes across the road had afew great nites in there . does anyone remember the lady chemist across the road with the classic VW?cant remmber when we went to iserlohn but do remember going to Ski School in Oberfranau for 6 weeks quite a eventful drive down there. when we went to iserlohn some of us went to N.I. on tour | |

| Hi Phil have a date for you 26 Engineer Regiment (4 Guards Brigade) – Allenbroke Barracks Paderborn moved to Corunna Barracks Iserlohn Nov 70...I arrived in Nov 77 then in Jan 78 unit was renamed 3 Armd Div Engr Regt then regiment less 25 Fd Sqn went NI infantry tour in 78 then I was posted to Ripon Nov 79 All the best Steve http://britisharmyiniserlohn.blogspot.com/ | |

| thanks steve yes it was Corruna barracks yep i remember now my eldest son was born in BMH iserlohn.. i thought id served in 44 field support at Willich after iserlohn but i think im mistaken it may have been 40 field support i know when i arrived at Corruna there was a armoured bridging squadron there. my wife and i lived in Hemer first then up on the hill near the irish rangers then we moved into army quarters but i cant remember where Delinghofen perhaps. thanks again phil | |

| A small world Phil it was 40 Army Support Regiment I came from Willich to Iserlohn in Nov 77 after a two year tour there you find the history of the place here on the first page http://royalengineersbaor.blogspot.com/Went back for a reunion couple of years ago and there is another planned next year not sure if I will be going or not let me know if you want details...regarding the Armoured Squadron at Iserlohn that became 2 Field Support Squadron in 1977 All the best Steve | |

| it must have been the 40th support did you know a stores junior officer called Blackjack at Corruna barracks? | |

| I did my EPC at the education center at Alanbrooke Barracks in 1986, if memory serves 1 QLR were in residence at the time. | |
