Named for Field Marshal Sir Alan Brooke, the Barracks had been known locally as Infanterie Kaserne and lay at the edge of Paderborn town on Elsenerstrasse.
The buildings in the Barracks were/are under Denkmalschuutz - Architectural interest protection - so the British users could repair but not alter the exterior form of the blocks.
Elsewhere there are records of key users over the years until recent hand-back of the camp (not long after a major refurb of the kitchens) to the German authorities. Such users included 26 Engr Regt~4 Div Engrs, 15/19 H, 33 Armd Bde & Paderborn GAR; Gar Courts Martial Centre, home to 41 AEC since 1950s, RRF and 2 and/or 5 LI.
STOP PRESS re-developers found a 250 kg (500 pounder) RAF WW2 bomb under the Sportsplatz - this was defused and removed by the Kampfmittelraumdienst Detmold on 17 Jul 2018.

Hi all, Allenbrooke was opened for the final time before demolition (21.07.19). Around 11000 people visited, which allowed them to see inside the guardroom and one of the accommodation blocks. The site is to be turned into a housing estate with around 800 units. 240 of which will be social housing. If you seach for radio hochstift, they have lots of pictures online. I have added a couple of my poor pics!

Only Paderborn Stadt have Alanbrooke featuring on video thus far - there are around 15 buildings that were under Denkmalschutz (Architectural Protection Orders which had been respected by the British over a number of years). The brand new soldiers' Cookhouse wasn't and has gone! Interestingly, in Paderborn, the Projects for recycling the Barracks have retained the British names and Stadt Paderborn are keen to redevelop Dempsey in Schloss Neuhaus, and Barker out on Driburgerstrasse - where the University also have a 20 million € project of their own in planning. The Brits have retained Normandy and Athlone Bks in Sennelager for their future training needs and the Training Area and Ranges, and relevant storage aeas, too.
and Block 32 Alanbrooke - going down and dusty and flattened by close of play Fri 25 Apr:

I think Tofrek Bks, at Hildesheim remains mainly intact.

The old Reme Workshop took a phase of being an Erotic Shop. Then Hildesheim Stadt Theatre took it over whilst the main theatre was revamped. I believe the workshop has taken on a cultural use now.
My old block looking smart now.

I'm having trouble getting the right pic into a post. Quote gives me something completely different.
If this is the pic of two blokes with the 500lb bomb, and I've interpreted the pic correctly, you can see my bedroom between 1977 and 1979 behind the head of the guy standing. Third pair of windows, left hand window.
Early 79, Op Humane had upgraded the adjacent block (northeast adjacent to the cobbled streets outside) and we moved into much nicer rooms.

they are taking offers to purchase - look luxurious!
The old early 1900 barrack blocks retained under an architectural protection order are ranged along Alan Brooke Weg (https://what3words.com/monument.official.sunroof) AND the old Gate Guard Room and HQ Offices are at https://what3words.com/shoppers.canyon.tablets new called Nelson Mandela Platz (a favourite of Fools and Horses Fans?)
