Steve,

When did the old title CIC change from Interogation to Internment Camp? Or were the 2 different?

Dear Mr Deveau-Maxwell,

thank you for your request. In fact, you can find under the archival signature S 3/22 the “war diary of 515 Mil. Gov. Det. Paderborn”, which was written by Major Bell. The diary is a photocopy from the Public Record Office (WO 171/ 8001/ 6476).

I am of course available at any time for further questions.

Best regards

W. Grabe

Hi Alan, recorded as follows:
91 Interrogation Camp to 25 Jul 45 then 4 Civilian Internment Camp at Recklinghausen
92 Interrogation Camp to 25 Jul 45 then 5 Civilian Internment Camp at Truppenubüngplatz
Unsure if this was a merger or a renaming, have also found:
031 Civilian Interrogation Camp at Stöckse east of Neinburg as late as Dec 45

Bad Nenndorf, near Hanover was a British Place of Interrogation. It doesn't appear to be a Numbered Camp! Reading about the place make one go cold!!!

I believe the British Government did not know of it's existence!!!
