Shelldrake,

Wherever the Brits served, the good old Sgt's mess always seemed to run Christmas drawers & raffles for the local kids etc.

Don't know about the booze but gave up smoking some 30 odd years ago. Had an astma checkup last week I was told I'm in terrific shape for a guy of 77 lung-wise. Don't know about the rest of me.

Really good to hear, if that was the only thing that killed us I think we would have a world of non smokers tomorrow, I have known so many give up only to go down with something else very soon afterwards, we know we can't avoid it, just hopefully put it off for as long as possible

Well Done, keep it up

I stopped smoking 7 years ago, best thing I ever did. When we lived in Germany I probably smoked between 200 - 250 a week, possibly more on Exercise. I am one of those reformed smokers, very intolerant. Sad Sad

As for drinking, I don't understand people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's the best they are going to feel all day. Very Happy Very Happy

Drinking can kill - remember 4 KATCOMS (Koreans Affiliated to the Commonwealth forces)
breakinto the petrol/oil store and drinking large quantities of glyco. Well, it is alchohol isn't it.
