PostSubject: BAOR ORBAT 1989 v 4.0   BAOR ORBAT 1989 v 4.0 Icon_minitime7/10/2013, 21:24

Hello all,

A major update so I started a new thread. I have to ask for some help though so if anyone can point me in the right direction or if you know the answer please feel free. I am working on a comprehensive bibliography that I will add on the next revision. Thank you all.

Help Items:
1) Does anyone know the County affiliation of the following RA Regts: 5 Hy Regt, 6 Ad Regt, & 12 Ad Regt
2) In 1988/89 there was a "TAVRA Demographic Study" which basically indicated which areas in the UK could support further TA units. The MOD cannot find it, do I have the correct title ? (It is mentioned several times in the TA ORBAT Review).
3) Does anyone know the Barracks for the Corps Lighting Tp ?
4) Who was the Comd Comms for 1 BR Corps ?
5) Barracks for 62 & 64 RCZ Wksps REME ?
6) Sp Pl locations for 4 Para, 10 Para, 5 RRF, 6 RRF, 5 R Anglian, 7 R Anglian, 1 York Vols, 3 Staffords, 4 R Irish, & 5 R Irish

Finally, I have a copy of the 1988 SOHB. I would like to obtain Amendment 3 (circa 1991) or even Amendment 2. MOD can't find it, I also tried the British Library and the Staff College library to no avail. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

5 Hvy - Yorkshire

12 LAD - Lancs & Cumbria

"6 AD" - From around 1947, (when they were LAA), 6th were a Field Regt.
In the late 60s they became a Light Regt.
Can't find a county/city affiliation for them.

According to the "History of the Royal Engineers" part of 65 Corps Support Squadron Ravelin Park Hameln accommodation would have been Bindon Barracks

brum,

Thank you. I know 45 Fd were "The West Yorkshire Gunners" and 50 Missile were "The Lincolnshire & Humberside Gunners". Can I assume that 5 Hvy was North Riding/North Yorkshire ?

12 AD was Lancs & Cumbria after 'Options' I believe.

6 AD Regt was forming in the early 1990's to man STARSTREAK. It got sacked when 'Options' came out.

Sorry I can't help more with this one.

I remember that affiliations were slowly introduced as a recruiting stunt, how successful the idea was I don't know.

Back then 22 LAD were "The Welsh Gunners" and my own 2 Fd were "The Manchester Gunners" but nothing else comes to mind at the moment.
