After much research I am finally finished with this document, I will update it periodically. I just want to thank everyone again as this site was the major source of the following work. Enjoy!

Great document, you must have spent an amazing amount of time researching it. The amount of information you provide has broadened my knowledge in particular of the TA reinforcements to BAOR.

A superb document, which I'm sure will be poured over by many. However one minor adjustment if I may...

52 was an ammo company at Pombsen, 53 was an ammo company at Depot 90 (Normandy barracks Sennelager)

Adding to computer documents is a snip if you have a Mac. Just right click and from drop down menu choose Save linked file as, then add to documents ... Windows must have a similar program, they copy every other thing from Apple.

Gentlemen thank you! My research is ongoing and I am depending on members of this forum. I have posted on the RAOConline forum where similiar discrepancies regarding 5 Ord Bn were pointed out. I will be revising the document over the weekend. Keep the corrections coming and again, I humbly thank you for appreciating my work.

Gents, once you open the link, look to the right hand side and you will see an orange coloured button marked 'Download or Print', just click on that to download a pdf version of the file.

A thought which enters my mind is the fact that this huge ORBAT, within two years, ceased to have a role in Europe as result of the collapse of the USSR and bringing an end to BAOR and the introduction of BFG

I concur with Steve on the correction as i served with 38 Engr Rect Wksp REME and were were all in Claro Barracks. Deverall Barracks was a transit camp for TA/Cadets and also used by regular units for things like cadres. I ran a JMC for 15 Fd Wksps in the late 80's at Deverall Barracks.

It was my last posting Jan 80 to mid 81, one of the Deverall Barracks spiders was annex to the Sgts Mess, my last bedspace...

Hi Steve. I was there 93-94. I was then posted on promotion. Most of the quarters area was just like the houses in Coronation street, but as the estate warden knew me when i was posted to 15 Fd Wksp (he was the Sgt Major at the time), he ensured that i was housed in the new quarters that looked like Brookside Close.

A couple of adjustments to the RAMC with info from the SOHB and other sources along with minor corrections/additions to some entries.

I am currently working on a UKMF July 1989 ORBAT and will post it here.

Just a note, many entries in this July 1989 ORBAT might have been post-1989. Where known I have indicated this. However my efforts to obtain the complete 1988 SOHB Amendment 3 (post 1990, before Options) has been to no avail. Similarly, the MOD document dump I received pertains to BAOR in 1991, they cannot find the relevant documents for 1989. From my research very little had changed but there seems to be a significant number of units, both Regular and TA, that were formed or were assigned a BAOR role post 1990.

I know this is thread is a few years old but I have just tripped over it and wanted to pass on my congrats on this monsterpiece - brilliant work and info.

Was it ever calculated how the total personnel were deployed to Germany at the time including families?
