I agree, I remember them. Trying hard to remember the aircraft their squadron had. (TSR2 ?).

Sounds like the usual military logic giving a sliphorn to a bugler ! Lucky they didn't recycle him as an instrument mechanic. And one more, an ex-donkey walloper mate assures me............ Les Dawson of the Queen's Bays.

Yeah but they didn't heed his warning did they ....SHOULD HAVE LISTENED I was in the east end of London recently well you aint seen nothing like it I thought I was in the Sudan Or Middle East the only thing that told me different was there was a Sainsbury's
I wish I hadn't, but a couple of weeks ago we stayed two nights in HOUNSLOW, a district of London. Hounslow is an example of what will happen to our country if immigration is not subjected to some sort of control. Apart from the fact that the place was swarming with Somalis, Poles, Russians, Ukrainians, Asians and God knows what else that populated the place, I fear that to complain about it would brand me a racist, which I am not. I am a patriot, I don't like what's happening to our country. I don't like the fact that anyone who expresses unease about immigration is lined up with Adolf Hitler. I do like the fact that where I live, in leafy Cheshire, we have acceptable levels of immigration. So far.

Without googling I know little about the great Enoch Powell. To have been in in the Royal Warwicks puts him in the same bracket as Montgomery. I like the fact that he kept his Brummie accent. I believe that he was a Brigadier at the age of 29. Enoch won prizes at the National Eisteddfod for poetry. Like johnboy, I think that a lot of what he said was prophetic. I'm not sure that any of it was BAOR related.
